Photographer Simon Menner has taken a captivating image of a hidden sniper aiming directly at the camera, which has led to a viral online challenge as people attempt to spot the sniper. Menner’s Camouflage photo series showcases snipers hidden in various natural environments. On his website, Menner explains that the snipers, though invisible due to their expertise, are always present in the photos, aiming at the camera and, by extension, the viewer. Menner worked with snipers from the German, Lithuanian, and Latvian armies to create the series. While it’s impressive to see the skill of both the snipers and Menner, one might question the wisdom of standing in front of a highly trained sniper for the sake of art.
