Biden’s student loan forgiveness program, which canceled debts for over 5 million students, has faced legal challenges from Republican attorneys general, who argue Biden exceeded his authority. The 5th Circuit Court blocked Biden’s “borrower defense” rule, intended to cancel loans for defrauded students. While the Supreme Court had agreed to review these cases, the Trump administration’s request may make them irrelevant. Additionally, Trump has opposed Biden’s climate agenda, supporting increased domestic fossil fuel production instead.
