Five weeks ago, I became a mother, and my son became the center of my universe. However, my mother-in-law’s constant presence and her tendency to bring visitors into our home added stress instead of helping. Exhausted and often hungry, I hoped for her support, but it was absent. One night, after a long day of caring for my son, I found no food left for me and was met with indifference. Frustrated, I argued with my husband, who defended his mother and expected me to do the dishes. Feeling unsupported, I left for my mother’s house. Despite my husband’s accusatory messages, I found solace in my son’s innocence. Desperate, I reached out to my father-in-law, who intervened, demanding my husband support me and my mother-in-law leave. This marked a turning point, with my husband becoming more supportive and my mother-in-law’s visits less frequent, fostering a peaceful family dynamic.
