This Sunday, February 9, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will face off for the Super Bowl at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. However, the NFL has made a controversial decision ahead of the game. For the first time in four years, the iconic ‘End Racism’ banners, which have been displayed at the end zones to combat racial hatred, will not be present. Instead, the end zones will feature new slogans: ‘Choose Love’ and ‘It Takes All of Us’. The change comes as former President Donald Trump is set to attend the game. Trump, who has been vocal in his opposition to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives since returning to office, has advocated for ‘merit-based’ hiring across the country. Some reports suggest the removal of the ‘End Racism’ banners may reflect the current political climate in the U.S.
