When Amanda learned about Bear, an abandoned dog in the mountains of Evan’s Creek, she and her friend Dylan set out to find and rescue him. Despite trying for over an hour with food and treats, Bear remained elusive.
The next day, they spotted Bear again but still couldn’t lure him close. Amanda then had a creative idea – she decided to lie down and ‘play dead’ to gain Bear’s trust. After a driver spotted Bear at a campsite and failed to approach him, Amanda took her tactic to the spot.
Playing dead, Amanda attracted Bear’s curiosity, and after some time, Bear began to trust her. Eventually, he approached and sat beside her. With patience and persistence, Amanda won his trust and took him to the vet.
Bear received the help he needed, and although his owner wasn’t found, a loving family adopted him. Amanda’s dedication and creativity ensured Bear found a new, caring home.
