During a nine-hour flight, I fully reclined my seat, only for the very pregnant woman behind me to start pushing it and complaining about her lack of legroom. I firmly told her, “If you want luxury, buy business!” She fell silent, and at some point, I noticed she was no longer there.
Curious, I asked a flight attendant about her whereabouts. The stewardess explained that they had moved her to an available business class seat to prevent further issues.
As we landed, a flight attendant approached me and said, “Sir, check your bag.” When I opened it, I was surprised to find a business class amenity kit inside.
The kit contained an eye mask, earplugs, toiletries, and a note that read: “Next time, try a little kindness. It costs nothing and makes the journey smoother for everyone. Thank you for inspiring the kindness of strangers to elevate me to a more comfortable seat. Safe travels.”
Despite this, I stand by my actions. I paid for my seat and had every right to recline it—after all, that’s exactly how the seats are designed.
