I Sold My Late Grandfather’s Home!

I sold my late grandfather’s house for a modest sum, convinced it was a burden. A week later, I received a letter in his handwriting, left by the executor of his will. The note urged me to check the basement. Intrigued, I called the new owner, Ben, who agreed to let me visit.

The basement was as I remembered—dark and cluttered. Following the letter’s clue, I found a small, locked metal box beneath a crate marked Books – Grandpa. At home, I pried it open to reveal papers, a photograph of my grandfather in front of the house, and a pouch of gold coins.

The photograph’s back read: “The treasure lies in the foundation, beneath the heart of the house.”

Shaken, I realized my grandfather had left me not just a mystery, but a powerful lesson about valuing what truly matters.
