MY NEIGHBOR REFUSED TO PAY ME $250 FOR CLEANING HER HOUSE—SO I TAUGHT HER A LESSON
My young neighbor, known for her wild parties, asked me to clean up her house after another chaotic night. She promised to pay $250, and I agreed. Cleaning her mess took two full days, but when I went to collect payment, she claimed, “We never agreed on anything!” Furious, I left—but only briefly.
Returning with a large trash bag, I dumped all the garbage I’d cleaned from her house into her backyard, creating a trail of trash leading to her door. As I worked, a neighbor, Mr. Thompson, chuckled in approval. “Good for you,” he said.
The next morning, she stormed over, fuming. When she demanded an explanation, I calmly replied, “You refused to pay, so I returned your property.” Realizing she had no leverage, she begrudgingly paid me. Lesson learned: don’t stiff someone unless you’re prepared to clean up your own mess!
