Mindy Cohn, best known for playing Natalie Green on The Facts of Life (1979–1988), never intended to pursue acting. She was discovered in 1979 when TV producers visited her school and impressed Charlotte Rae, leading to her role on the sitcom. Initially aspiring to become a doctor, Cohn’s acting career flourished, and she remained active in the industry. She also voiced Velma in What’s New, Scooby-Doo? for over a decade, further solidifying her presence in entertainment.
In 2012, Cohn was diagnosed with breast cancer after experiencing extreme fatigue. She underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation, enduring a difficult five-year battle. Seeking peace, she retreated to the countryside, living on a farm with friends Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge, where she found healing in nature and daily farm work. By 2017, she was cancer-free and credited her recovery to the unwavering support of her loved ones. Now 58, Cohn continues to embrace life with resilience and gratitude.
