Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is often praised as a remedy for various hair problems, including dandruff and lackluster hair. Intrigued by claims that it can enhance hair texture, shine, and overall health, I decided to test it out overnight.
ACV is acidic due to acetic acid, which helps balance the scalp’s pH. It also contains vitamins like B and C, and is thought to have antimicrobial properties that may help with scalp infections and dandruff.
I gathered what I needed: organic ACV, a spray bottle, a shower cap, and a towel. After performing a patch test, I mixed the ACV with water in a 1:1 ratio to dilute it, as undiluted vinegar could be too harsh. I sprayed the mixture onto my scalp and hair, massaged it in, and covered my head with a shower cap before heading to bed to see how my hair would react.
